Of national lies

May 2nd : The Osama  episode – Complicity or incompetence. Or was it all a lie. ! We ‘rocked’ all  the newspapers of the  world that  day. A-baata-bad  A-baata-bad everywhere.

May 22nd : PNS Mehran Base Attack – What sophisticated terrorists ! Taliban. No. Al-Qaeda! No..Indian/ Israeli hand! Inside job?errr….it certainly was no security lapse!

May 13th : DG-ISI and COAS ‘surrendered’ themselves to the parliament. Oye hoye hoye hoye. History! A joint resolution condemning America’s  violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty was just so ‘awesome’!  *tears*

May 29th : Saleem Shehzad abducted and later tortured to death -  He was getting too big for his boots. And everybody knows who did it.

June 5 : Budget -  Rs.150 billion reward for the armed forces for their outstanding services to this nation.

Nobody felt responsible. Nobody resigned. Nobody was sacked.

Enquiries. Commissions. Reports.

Lies lies and more  lies.

But hey! these are just petty issues.

Guess what?!

SC has taken a suo moto notice over FIA letting go Atiqa Odho for carrying liquor.  Discrimination they said. An  airhostess had to face the law in an identical case. (Akhir Kyun Me-lord? Yeh na-insaafi kyun!?)

Now that’s what you call a SOLID issue!

Die Pakistanis. Nobody cares.

    • Usman,

We care. And we are nobody.

May Allah bless his soul and grant patience to his family.

‘Take me to the hospital’ , I hear him.

  1. Not Pakistanis, Pakistan will die. Made on the false promise of a false religion, destroying lives of millions of peoples because the Muhajir elite wanted to continue their rule.
    Ab to jana hoga.

    Khuda hafiz.

    • With serpents like you,and many other millions too,we had no other choice..than to run away. The dream of Akhand Bharat is as myopic as it can ever be!The Muhajir elite were supported by people of a religion who were so intolerant.I will not say anything about that religion(I can write volumes on it though),because my TRUE religion forbids me to ill of other religions.Does yours too Kildesh?

  2. Kildesh,

You wish. Hoga wahi jo Khuda chahe ga.

Pakistan will survive. We’lll get out of it stronger, better. Insha’Allah.

    You keep dreaming.

    and..

You don’t need to drag religion while spewing venom here. Please be civil. Khuda aapka Hafiz!

  3. I didn’t want to be that rude, I’m an ex-Muslim from ‘Azad’ Kashmir, my whole maternal family had served this country – grandfather being captain in the Army – but we have to admit that the whole plan was bad from the inception. You can’t make a new State-identity with religion. And that’s why I talked of Muhajirs: Pakistan was made because the elite of North-Central India wanted to continue its rule on Muslim masses after the British depart, as they couldn’t in a secular Indian state.
That’s why every single Muslim League leader was from the aristocracy, ironically apart from M.A. Jinnah himself.

Pakistan had a bright future until the late 80s – when India itself was seen as a ‘failed state’ – but thanks to Zia-ul-Haq’s Islam, we have the results today. Pakistan was, since 1950s and until Zia’s rule, a model in every aspect – at the point that Indians were watching our dramas and a re-known cricketer like Mohinder Amarnath, when asked (by a girl) if he was Pakistani (he was standing near Imran Khan-Wasim Akram, signing autographs for some feminine fans) he textually said ‘I don’t have that chance’. It give you the extinct of the cultural influence of a State which even today has 1 billion less people than India.

A bit long, but my point is: I love Pakistanis, and felt proud to being one until May 2011 (and that without Islam), but the Zia-ul-Haq’s Pakistan is, seeing how things are going, going to be forgotten very soon by history.

    • What is your definition of aristocracy? JINNAH wasn’t an aristocrat??? As far as you exiting Islam…I feel sorry, but then that is your choice and will,I will comment no further. And as far as believing that Pakistan being in its present miserable state is due to ISLAM is just towing the Western Islamophobia line… God of the Universe(not God of Islam)has given us all brains to think and reason independently. The Islam we should follow is that of the Holy Prophet Muhammed(PBUH).If Zia was enforcing his brand of Islam, does it mean we succumb to his ideology and leave the religion totally? If we don’t like the religion, let us admit it,but stop making others the scapegoat .

  4. @ Kildesh:

Islam is different for everybody, so it cannot be blamed.

Zia’s Islam was as close to true Islam as is that of Natasha’s or Rehan’s, when you ask the respective believers themselves. So whose Islam will you blame?

You can blame specifically Taliban-style Islam, since that is the Islam most dominant in its scholarly and political influence, and because it was adopted by the State as its ideal goal, even when not supported by the majority’s culture initially. And because now it is the majority point of view. You can blame the State for choosing and supporting that version of Islam.

German Nazis were not Pakistanis, but their self-righteous ideology or the drive to fight the whole world was nothing different. Names don’t matter so blaming names is also probably not a valid stance.

    @ Natasha:

Stop complaining before the Army “takes over” petty issues as well.. and the SC is left with nothing to take action on..

We should appreciate that Atiqa Odho wasn’t abducted and thrown into the river for carrying anti-Pakistan liquids manufactured by foreign hands.

  5. Interesting discussions here. I’m not surprised at media’s speculation of an Indian hand on the Mehran Base attack but how come Israel got clubbed with India?

  6. Do you still consider Indians as enemy ??
‘cuz our statement reflects this.. //Israel’s an enemy state as well//

Dono mulkon ke logon ki yeh ghalatfehmi (dushmani wali feeling) naa jaane kis din dur hogi !!

  7. Some “FRIENDLY GESTURES” from India:
1.IPL doesn’t approve Pakistani Players playing in it.
2.SHIV SENNA issuing threats against Pakistani Team prior to the World Cup.
3.India ready/willing to tow Uncle Sam’s policy of ‘solo’ clandestine OBL type operations deep inside Pakistan if it feels to do so.

    • We hate Shiv Sena as much as you do (at least I do). All the franchises wanted Pakistani players to be on the list but due to pressure from certain sections, they decided to play safe. It’s not about negative vibes against Pakistani players. Wasim Akram is the bowling coach of Kolkata team. Imran Khan is a legend admired in the cricketing world. There are many other great players.

About the third point, I myself did not read about any such statement being made by govt. sources, at least not in The Hindu (the only readable paper in India I feel) so I doubt such claims. These are the handiwork of media which is expert in creating news and twisting things out of proportion.

  8. And can we know the ‘certain sections’? I do. And they will never let us become ‘friends’.Case closed.

  9. Well i would have written the same, i see no hope from current political/military arena, may be Khan sahab can do some wonders but he needs some help from Allah to get elected in this dirty pool of selection in Pakistan. i hope and pray for Pakistan prosperity.
